AES stands for Algae Entertainment Space, a
place where exercising helps spirulina grow and helps cultivate a relationship
between the two.
It’s a dome designed to grow spirulina in
its walls, while astronauts can exercise inside of it with the help of
specially designed equipment. The exercises are particular to this place, since
the low gravity allows for movement that on earth wouldn’t be possible. Jumping
and climbing become exciting activities that take a new shape inside of the AES.
Spirulina grows as astronauts interact with the
space.
AES allows for activities otherwise
impossible in space. The bubbles on the ground help astronauts propel upwards.
These are connected to the spirulina growing on the walls and help oxygenize it
when people jump on them.
